Conceptualizing and Teaching Russian Verbs of Motion: Searching for Alternative Approaches

About this Special Issue:

The special issue, guest-edited by Maria Bondarenko (Université de Montréal, Canada), examines Russian verbs of motion as a central topic in Russian linguistics, Slavic aspectology, and second language instruction. Contributions explore traditional and alternative approaches to conceptualizing and teaching verbs of motion, with attention to cognitive and usage-based perspectives, acquisition by native and non-native speakers, corpus-based research, classroom practices, teaching materials, and pedagogical approaches such as gamification, task-based learning, project-based learning, and TPR.
