Abstract
Rebecca Gould discussed her journey from earning a master's in food science at Texas Woman's University to a PhD in institution administration at the same institution. She transitioned from teaching at the University of Utah to a 20-year IT career at Kansas State University, leveraging her dietetic skills in customer service. Gould highlighted her mentorship by Dr. Carol Shanklin and Dr. Judy Miller, and her pivotal moments, including a major library fire at KSU. She emphasized the importance of data-driven decisions, project-based learning, and the transferability of dietetic skills to IT management. Gould also reflected on her research focus on school foodservice and the dietary needs of children with special needs.
