Biography
Caroline grew up in Erfurt on the land of her parents in Burgörner and Auleben.
Her marriage experienced some unusual events, as they spent a number of years apart on different occasions, but by 1819 they were back together permanently on the Humbolt'schen family land, Schloss Tegel.
She lived in a number of different places, including the cultural metropolitans of Paris, Rome and Vienna, where her home was always made to be a meeting point for minds of the time. She also undertook a journey throughout Spain with 3 of her children at that time.
