Description

The title of this photo is "Paled by Ridges" I have always loved the mountains and being in them is revitalizing. This has pushed me to look for ways to become more sustainable in the way that we interact with our environment. This picture was taken in Little Cottonwood Canyon. There has been much debate as of late regarding this canyon and what should be done to reduce the impact of heavy traffic during the winter ski season. Being quite literally raised in the canyon, I have strong ties that lead me to looking for sustainable options. In the picture, you can look closely and see a small group hiking up the ridge. They look like ants in comparison to the grandeur of the canyon. I wanted to emphasize how small we are in comparison to God's creation. At the same time we have so much control over the environment and us, being so small, can shape nature in irreversible ways. We must make sustainable choices and preserve the environment we have.
