Abstract
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a neurobiological condition that affects the functioning of students every day (American Psychiatric Association [APA|, 2000). Frequently cited research indicates that OCD affects 5 of every 1,000 students (Flament et al., 1988), making OCD the fourth most common psychiatric disorder among American youth (Sloman, Gallant, & Storch, 2007) . Somewhat more conservative recent epidemiological research indicates that it affects two to three of every 1,000 children ages 5 to 15 (Heymanet al., 2001).
