Abstract
Optical memory technology is a way to store information using lasers and is used in videodiscs, CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, M-Discs, etc. This technology was developed in Torrance, California in the 1970s by a team lead by Kent D. Broadbent, who graduated from BYU with a degree in Physics in 1949.
This display showcases the technology and those involved in its development.
