Abstract
Out of class, student-led project to compose and perform a new viola concerto, with an all-volunteer (mostly student) orchestra. Composition is based on the story of Icarus, his imprisonment with his father in the labyrinth of Crete, their escape, and Icarus’ downfall when he flew too close to the sun.
