Abstract
Author overviews her first impressions of the library profession after one month on the job, both positive and negative. She concludes that libraries suffer from many of the other issues academic institutions in general suffer from, that librarians break stereotypes, that remaining relevant is a concern to librarians, that collaboration is encouraged, and that a culture of protectiveness is alive in library settings.
