Abstract
During the course of the Twentieth-Century, considerable emphasis had been generated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and various service organizations relative to the acquiring of and/or proper designation of historical sites leagued with the rise of "Mormonism." Perhaps the spirit behind this desire is registered in the expression of Joseph Howe:
A wise nation preserves its records, gathers up its monuments, decorates the tombs of its illustrious dead, repairs its great structures and fosters national pride and love of country by perpetual reference to the sacrifices and glories of the past.
