Description
This paper provides a detailed overview of the development of a comprehensive training resource for Area Coordination Missionaries (ACMs) serving with the BYU-Pathway program. The training resource, in the form of an area guide, aims to provide ongoing training and support for ACMs to manage the needs of service missionaries working with BYU-Pathway students. The project was initiated by the Training and Development team with the primary goal of reducing technical training given during onboarding, which can be a time-consuming process for new ACMs.
The area guide created serves as a just-in-time resource for ACMs to access the information and support they need to manage their areas efficiently. The guide includes detailed instructions for managing student data, submitting student tickets, managing missionary assignments, analyzing enrollment trends, and carrying out administrative tasks. The Training and Development team worked to explicitly outline the responsibilities of ACMs to ensure that the guide provides comprehensive and relevant training.
Overall, the area guide serves as an essential tool for ACMs to maintain the operation of their areas while answering common questions that may arise. The guide is designed to be user-friendly, with clear instructions and helpful tips throughout, and it provides just-in-time training to support ACMs in their day-to-day work. The project represents a significant step towards improving the ongoing training and support for ACMs working with the BYU-Pathway program.
