Correlates of Conjugal Power: A Five Culture Analysis of Adolescent Perceptions
Adolescent perceptions, family, husband, wife, power
Two theoretical frameworks dominate the explanation of the relative power of husband or wife: ideological theory which emphasizes norms; and resource theory which emphasizes personal attributes and possessions. Both theoretical orientations have received some support in empirical research, but the support has been mixed.
