Abstract
Viviani Joffre Fedeler and her family live surrounded by stories in the New York Public Library. Although books are all around her, Viviani can't seem to come up with a story of her own for her class’ creative writing contest. One day, the librarians discover that someone has checked out, but not returned, several rare and valuable medical volumes. Attempts to track them down lead to dead ends. Viviani knows that solving this mystery will give her a story. Using codes, photography, investigation, traps, wit, and instinct, Viviani and her friends are able to track down the story hoarder, revealing another complex and unexpected story.
