Situacion nutricional y alimentaria, de las localidades de Pan de Azucar, Hancara, Villa Santa Chacoma e Hichuraya Grande, del Departamento de La Paz, Provincia Ingavi, Bolivia, 1996

Abstract

The present research work is a transverse and descriptive study, which had as its principal objective to determine the Food and Nutritional Situation of the communities of Villa Santa Chacoma, Hancara, Hichuraya Grande and Pan de Azucar of the Ingavi province of the department of the La Paz. The most relevant part of the study was in finding the elevated percentage of infant population that presents an elevated prevalence and different levels of malnutrition. In adults what calls the attention is the physical exhaustion and the loss of muscle tissue, this situation was seen as a consequence of poverty, food consumption, prolonged exposure to breastfeeding, complementary feeding, type of foods that those under the age of 2 eat, the lack of knowledge about nutrition, geographical location in the communities, the degree of instruction of the heads of family, sanitary conditions and above all the economic factor.

Abstract (Spanish)

El presente trabajo de investigación es un estudio transversal y descriptivo, tuvo como objetivo principal determinar la Situación Nutricional y Alimentaria de las comunidades VILLA SANTA CHACOMA, HANCARA, HICHURAYA GRANDE Y PAN DE AZUCAR de la provincia Ingavi del departamento de La Paz. Lo mas relevante del estudio fué el encontrar un porcentaje elevado de población infantil que presenta elevadas prevalencias y diferentes grados de desnutrición. En adultos lo que llama la atención es el desgaste físico y la perdida de tejido muscular que tienen, esta situación se vio que es una consecuencia de la pobreza, del consumo alimentario, el tiempo prolongado de lactancia materna, la alimentación complementaria, tipo de alimentos que consume el menor de 2 años, el escaso conocimiento sobre alimentación, ubicación geográfica de las comunidades, el grado se instrucción de los jefes de familia, condiciones sanitarias y sobre todo el factor económico.
