Biography
Hedda Rzach was born in Prague on 24 September 1875. Her parents, Hedwig Lumilla and Alois Rzach were involved in Prague’s German literature circle. Hedwig wrote under a pseudonym and they ran a salon which was attended by famous people like Rainer Maria Rilke. Hedda studied at the University of Prague and was involved in charity work through the Schwestern-Fröhlich-Stiftung, She married August Sauer in September 1892 in Krumlov. Her husband was also a poet and they had salons in Smichov. Her, husband was a professor and had Kafka as a student poet. She died in Prague on 21 March 1953.
