Biography
Born privileged in 1852, Ida Ed married Karl Boy at age 17, they had two sons and a daughter before she left him for Berlin. There she began writing and supporting the artists of the area. in 1880 however she was required to return to Lübeck where her husband lived as the divorce had not been finalized. There she lived out the rest of her years as an influential supporter of the arts, earning herself a prominent apartment and a honorary monument in a special cemetary in Lübeck.
