Juliane Dery, Juliane Deutsch
At age 9 Juliane Déry and her family moved from their homeland in Hungary to Austria, where they converted from Judaism to Catholicism shortly before her father's death. She went got a teaching degree from a monastic school and then dedicated her life to writing. She wrote in many styles, not defining her own. In 1899, shortly after moving to Berlin, she took her own life, possibly on account of a broken heart.
