Abstract

This account, written by a noted psychiatrist, describes a personal, powerful inner event which the author experienced in his twenty-first year as a student at the University of Zfirich, the city of his birth. On Sunday, May 14, 1916, a total anxiety had befallen him with a persistent overpowering force. During the days that followed the state of anxiety shifted and granted tpe young student shockingly magnificent glimpses into the fabric of the human condition. They are offered in this booklet with forceful simplicity.
