Abstract

Rudolf Braun's study of the assimilation problems of Italian workers in Switzerland has two outstanding qualities which are rarely found together in the same work: It meets the strict professional standards of modern sociological research, but it is also written with the heart and therefore reads in its main parts like a captivating novel.
