Abstract
The New York annual meeting of December 12, 1970, decided to create two new committees, a nominating committee and a publications committee. According to Article VI, Section 2, of the SAHS Constitution the president "shall appoint special committees for research work, the printing and publishing of pamphlets periodicals and books and such other specific activities as may be deemed necessary in carrying out the objects and purposes of this Society." Accordingly, I have appointed the following committees and charged them with the duties as outlined below. Both committees are appointed for 1971 only, this being the last year of my term as president of the SAHS.
