Abstract
The Swiss American Historical Society, founded in Chicago on July 4, 1927, and reactivated at a constitutional meeting in New York on December 29, 1964, has defined its goals in its revised constitution of November 13, 1965, as follows:
"The objects and purposes of this organization shall be to institute, conduct and encourage historical research; to record the achievements of Swiss American citizens and residents of Swiss extraction and their influence upon the progress and development of governmental institutions, and of industry, science and education in the United States of America; to analyze and describe all aspects of U.S. - Swiss relations; and to publish and distribute information and data concerning the same. The Society shall also serve as a meeting ground of persons who in their capacity, academic or otherwise, have a natural interest in the two countries."
