Fritz Blum, special issue

Abstract

We owe this gift to our member Fritz Blum in New York who collected the material for this special issue. Even if he does not like to admit it in his modesty, he obviously has been the driving force behind this enterprise. We should like to draw your special attention to the interviews on pages 10 and 11 with 12 Swiss graphic artists working in the New York area, with the fitting title: "Ein neuer Schweizer Exportartikel: Graphiker", but also to the genealogical article on page 15 on the Swiss ancestry of the astronaut Walter M. Schirra and of President J ohnson ' s son-in-law Charles S. Robb . On this occasion we also recommend you the two SvJiss newspapers, the "Amerikanische Schweizer Zeitung", 1 Union Square West, New York, N.Y. 10003 (Editor : our Board Member Franz X. Amrein ) and the "Swiss Journal ", 54'.3 Columbus Avenue, San Francisco , California 94133 (Editor: our Board Member Mario Muschi). Both Mr. Amrein and Mr. Muschi are close friends and supporters of the SAHS, always eager to help us by announcing our events and by publishing on subjects of Swiss American hi tory and cultural relations.
