Abstract
Founded in September 1963, the Stanford Club of Switzerland is one of the many clubs which, all over the world, bring into contact former students and scholars of Stanford University. In Switzerland, there are at present nearly seventy of them - about half being American, half Swiss - with activities extending from scientific research and work in international organizations to banking and industrial management. A majority of them have joined the Stanford Club of Switzerland and, thanks to it, have made acquaintances which they would otherwise have almost certainly missed making. During its short life, the Club has already organized several gatherings and conferences by Stanford professors visiting Switzerland and each fall, at the time of the football game between the universities of Stanford and California, a "Big Game Party" with dinner, movies on Stanford and dance. In addition, the Club acts as an information center for Swiss students desirous of studying at Stanford. (Its president is Kurt A. Widmer, an investment-broker from Zurich, its Vice president Dr.jur. Hans J . Halbheer from Zurich/Zollikon, and its secretary Georges A. Cuendet, an economist from Berne, 12 Halen, 3037 Stuckishaus/BE).
