Abstract
The business community has ignored mental health challenges for too long. Two phenomenon, absenteeism and presenteeism, are causing massive losses to businesses. The millennial generation has higher rates of depression. Poor mental health means poor employee retention. What do businesses need to do? Mind the gap: begin recognizing the mental health challenges, and how to foster a culture of mental health awareness in their employees.
