Abstract
Children’s book illustration continues to be a field that is closely connected to education. How many of us can remember the first books we picked up as we began learning to read in grade school? “See Pug Run” still comes to mind when I remember my first grade readers, and I would pick out my favorite books at the school library by the familiar illustrations on their covers. Finishing a full set of illustrations for an educational children’s book has given me new insights on the purpose and process of children’s book illustration.
