Abstract
With the magnitude of the conflicts in the middle-east, it is increasingly important to teach students tolerance for people of the Islamic faith. As an Art Educator, I found this an ideal time and opportunity to research the many aspects of Islamic art and to encapsulate these principles into a visual arts curriculum unit for students at the ninth and tenth grade levels. The unit includes all elements of Art Education: Art History, Studio, Aesthetics, Art Criticism, and Visual Culture.
