Abstract

The report on the 2025 Japanese Rare Book Workshop on Japanese Rare Book Workshop on the Bibliographical History of Japanese Books from an International Perspective, held at Princeton University Library Special Collection from August 19–21, 2025. The workshop was organized by the Subcommittee on Japanese Rare Books, Committee on Japanese Materials (CJM) within the Council on East Asian Libraries (CEAL) in collaboration with Princeton University Library, Department of East Asian Studies, Program of East Asian Studies, and Professor Takahiro Sasaki of Shido Bunko, Keio University, as the instructor. The three-day workshop was followed by a symposium Case Studies on Japanese Rare Books, and two guided tours of the Princeton University Library’s rare book collections.
