Abstract

In response to the huge demand of managing e-resources, ERMB (The CEAL Task Force on Metadata Standards and Best Practices for East Asian Electronic Resources) was charged to investigate the best practices for creating, manipulating, and managing electronic content and metadata for resources in East Asian languages in November 2013. In light of emerging trends such as digital humanities, digital harvesting and repositories as well as e-resources metadata in the next-gen library systems, the CEAL Task Force for Review of the ERMB was formed in June 2020 and was charged to examine the current ERMB Task Force’s charge to see whether the ERMB can be expanded or redefined, or it should be established as a new standing committee. This interim report aims to share the Task Force’s findings with the CEAL members for feedback.
