Ground nesting and aggressive behavior by the Swainson's Hawk (Buteo swainsoni)

Abstract

A successful ground nesting by Swainson's Hawks, Buteo swainsoni, is reported for central Utah. Unusual aggressive nest defense behavior is described for this ground nesting pair.
