Family Perspectives
Abstract
This paper explores the impact of poverty on academic achievement in children. It begins by outlining the general effects of poverty before delving into its specific consequences for educational outcomes. Findings indicate that poverty significantly affects self-esteem and family relationships, which, in turn, contribute to lower academic performance among children. Additionally, the paper proposes underlying causes for these outcomes and potential interventions. These insights are supported by a diverse range of data, highlighting the urgent need to address this critical issue.
