Predictors of Sibling Active Coping in Families Raising a Child with a Disability

Abstract
The family is the major context in which children develop ways to cope with stress (Gaylord-Harden, 2013). An examination of coping in families raising a child with a disability may be especially important because of the stressors individual family members may encounter. Although a large body of research has addressed the issue of family coping in families raising a child with a disability (Ross & Cuskelly, 2006), relatively little work has addressed the coping of typically developing siblings.
