Data Description Document for the journal article "Modeling of the chest wall response to prolonged bracing in pectus carinatum" submitted to PLOS One in 2023 by Sargent et al. The data file was compiled via Microsoft Excel as part of the Microsoft 365 Office Suite. The top row of each sheet within the file is the header line with the data in all subsequent rows. The journal article contains an in-depth definition of the variables used in the column names but a brief overview is given in each sheet definition.

	Sheet 1: "All Data"
		All data as recorded by the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center Chest Wall Center, reformatted for ease of use in statistical software. Columns include:
			Patient_Number: Numerical identifier for deidentified patients
			Follow_Up_Number: Numerical identifier for the visit of a given patient. 0 indicates their initial visit/brace fitting
			PC: Pressure of Correction (also named POC)
			Prior PT: Pressure recorded at the subsequent visit for the PT 
			PT: Prescribed Treatment Pressure
			Min_Hr_Worn: Patient reported minimum hours of wear per day
			Max_Hr_Worn: Patient reported maximum hours of wear per day
			Average_Reported_Hrs: A simple average of the preceding two columns
			Days_At_That_PT_and_Hrs: Number of days at the prescribed treatment pressure and average reported hours of wear. Indicator of time between follow-up visits
			Pressure-Months: A measure of the average time of wear at a given PT in units of psi-months

	Sheet 2: "Patient Profile Data"
		Summary data of each patient's recorded treatment history. Columns include:
			Patient_Number: Numerical identifier for deidentified patients
			Initial_Group_Number: Numerical identifier of the severity of the pressure to correct at visit 0 grouped into 4 groups ranging 1 (greatest severity of deformity) to 4 (least severity).  
			Initial_Hr_Min_Suggested: Prescribed minimum hours of wear per day prescribed at visit 0. Directly correlated to Initial Group Number. 
			Initial_Hr_Max_Suggested: Prescribed maximum hours of wear per day prescibed at visit 0. Directly correlated to Initial Group Number. 
			Days_To_Neutral: Days until patient obtained a PC of 0, or "maintenance" case. No recorded number indicates the patient has not yet had a follow-up visit where PC was measured at 0. 
			Duration_Of_Brace: Total number of days until the Chest Wall Center determined the patient has completed the treatment plan and no further visits are recommended. No recorded number indicates the patient has not yet finished the treatment plan or has discontinued recommended visits.
			Total_Number_Of_Visits: Total number of visits including initial visit (visit 0) and the final completion visit (where applicable)

	Sheet 3: "Data to Maintain Case"
		Replica of Sheet 1 "All Data" sheet with visits after the patient obtains a PC of 0 indicating that the deformity is corrected and the brace is now worn for maintenance until the correction is permanent. Columns are identical to those in Sheet 1.
