Since he was a baby, young “lost and founder” Herbert Lemon has lived at the Grand Nautilus Hotel in the seaside town of Eerie-on-the-Sea. His life is changed when another orphan, Violet Parma, comes searching for clues to find out what happened to her parents. Herbert and Violet embark together on an adventure to solve the mystery of the unknown creature that lurks beyond the tide, the Malamander. It is said that whoever gains access to the Malamander’s egg will have their dreams fulfilled. But Herbert and Violet aren’t the only ones searching for the egg, and they must contend with a man who is chasing Violet and the secrets of the past.
