Abstract
Caterpillar happens upon some of his fellow caterpillars preparing to become butterflies through metamorphosis and decides to tag along. The only problem—Caterpillar is very impatient. When he realizes that he must stay in his chrysalis for two weeks, it’s too much for him to take. He breaks open his chrysalis, hoping to have made the change already. Unfortunately, he realizes he can't rush nature. He tries again and successfully becomes a colorful, winged butterfly. When his friends head off for a long migration, Caterpillar (now a butterfly) wants to tag along again. Time will tell on their trip whether he has learned to be more patient or not.
