Abstract
Usain Bolt, Olympic gold medalist and world record-breaking sprinter, was born in Jamaica and began running and racing as a child. Despite injury and through hard work, he went on to beat the Jamaican 200-meter record in 2007. Later, he participated in the 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympic games and won three gold medals in each. He also broke the world record in the 100- and 200-meter sprints at the 2009 World Championship meet. Because of these amazing athletic achievements, the world now knows him as “Lightning Bolt.”
