Abstract

Have you ever been told you weren’t good enough? Bessie Stringfield sure was, but that never stopped her! This book tells the story of young Bessie Stringfield learning to ride a bike. All the boys at school said she couldn’t do it and she’d never be faster than them. Bessie dreams that she rides her bike so fast she can glide over water and shoot into space. The next day, Bessie takes her bike to where the boys are racing to show them what she can do.
