Abstract
Carley Connors has been sent to live with a foster family. She is suddenly faced with an unfamiliar style of parenting and family interactions, and she does not know how to navigate this new world. Carley finds a new friend who helps her feel normal, and gradually she finds common ground with the new family. But just when she begins to feel comfortable and starts to wonder about the possibilities of being a permanent member of the family, Carley receives notice that her mother wants her back.
