Abstract

A year ago on his birthday, Henry Bear wished that his parents would be more fun. He thought not having rules would be exciting, but now his parents aren't normal. They beg Henry to stay up, eat cake for every meal, and even encourage him to be late for school. Henry realizes over the year that living with no rules is not as fun as he thought, so tonight when he blows out the candles, he plans to wish for his parents to go back to normal. When he comes home he sees that his mother has prepared a bowl of candy for him instead of cake, which means no candles and no wish. Fortunately, Henry’s new friend is there to save the day and life goes back to normal.
