Abstract
Many people know that Howard Carter discovered King Tutankhamen's tomb in the Valley of the Kings. But most people don't know how a British artist became an archaeologist discovering tombs in Egypt. This picture book tells the true story of Howard Carter and his perennial interest in Egypt. He had always been interested in Egypt, so he got there any way he could: by getting a job to illustrate copies of ancient works of Egyptian art. While in Egypt, Howard learned everything he could about archaeology. He eventually discovered King Tut's tomb in the Valley of the Kings after years and years of hard work.
