Abstract
Kate’s whole world turns upside down in one day. She catches her father, who is also her swim coach, cheating with a swim mom. Giving up the only world she’s ever known, she moves to a new city with a new school and a new swim team. As Kate struggles to find a new normal in her life, she develops a crush on Michael, her new best friend’s boyfriend. Just when things can’t seem to get worse, Kate’s best friend from her old life, Harris, gets caught using steroids, and her new friends turn against her when they find out about her secret crush. Kate may not be able to control what happens around her, but after some time, her friends forgive her and she finds that she can move on and find happiness.
