Abstract
Abraham Lincoln, or Abe as his family called him, was born in 1809. He lived much of his childhood with his father and stepmother because his mother died while he was young. Abe loved to read and learn. He spent time reading about the law and became a renowned lawyer. Abe got into politics and eventually became president of the United States. He was president during the Civil War and was assassinated a mere five days after the war ended. He left behind a legacy of honesty and truth.
