Abstract
The Book of Mistakes is a story about changing your perspective. Quirky illustrations in black ink and pastel colored pencil are changed from a first sketch with an apparent shortcoming to a fantastical story. An unfortunate ink splatter is transformed into a clever hat, a too-long leg altered for tree climbing, and so on. The artist-narrator explains each scene as a mistake-turned-opportunity, thereby providing a valuable life lesson.
