Abstract
Katie is new to Boston and quickly makes friends with spunky Ana. Both girls are trying to understand their place in the world and whether or not they can trust each other with their deepest secrets. Katie was adopted and has had multiple surgeries as well as a heart transplant. This has left her vulnerable, and her overprotective mother is always worried about her. Ana is trying to keep her family together after her father has abandoned the family and her strict Russian grandmother has moved in. As their friendship goes through challenges, they must learn how to trust one another and hold fast to their friendship.
