Abstract

Jamie is growing a pumpkin which he plans on carving. He starts with a seed. After planting the pumpkin seed, it grows into a sprout which becomes a much larger plant. This plant grows a flower. On the flower grows a small green pumpkin. This pumpkin gets bigger and bigger and more and more orange until it is just right for picking. After carving the jack o’ lantern Jamie saves six pumpkin seeds for the next year that he hopes to plant next spring to grow more pumpkins.
