Abstract
This book chronicles the life of Blackbeard from his birth in 1680 to his death in 1718. Blackbeard was originally Edward Teach, a man who served Queen Anne as a privateer. His job was to capture cargo from ships on behalf of the Queen. Eventually, his services were no longer needed and he joined a pirate crew. He gained his own ship and terrorized the seas, until he was killed by Robert Maynard.
