When Max’s parents leave to start his mother's cancer treatments, Max’s cousin Alex is put in charge. But as soon as Alex arrives, she and Max uncover a mountain of unpaid bills that will lead to eviction. Desperately searching the house for items to sell, Alex and Max find a lost manuscript left by their famous ancestor, Jules Verne. The manuscript reveals that Verne hid treasure for his descendants. Max and Alex team up with a millionaire, Spencer Niemand, to pursue the clues. Niemand double-crosses Max and Alex, but his deception leads the cousins to the Verne’s treasure and the stranded Nautilus.
