Abstract
A young girl carries a bowl of milk on top of her head on a long journey to bring it to her father who is herding sheep far away. When Penda’s mother tells her she wants to bring a bowl of milk to Penda’s father who is away in the grasslands, Penda volunteers to do it for her. Penda feels both brave and important as she carefully winds through obstacles to deliver the milk without losing a single drop.
