Abstract

The term "Renaissance" has undergone a revolution in meaning. A basic review of what the term refers to would be helpful in increasing communication and cooperation among scholars of varying disciplines. This article surveys recent scholarly treatments of the history, politics, economy, philosophy, science, literature, and art of the Renaissance period.
