Abstract
Paul Y. Hosikisson, discusses the allegory of the olive tree preached by Jacob in the Book of Mormon. Jacob used the allegory to teach the Nephites that the Jews would reject Christ but later return and build on Christ as their sure foundation. Hoskisson ascribes each of the seven periods in the allegory to major eras in the history of the house of Israel.
