Abstract
Jerald F. Simon writes about Thomas Bullock's life in relation to the effect he had on The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as given in Bullock's own journals and diaries. Bullock, born in England, immigrated to the United States and quickly found himself employed as a clerk for Joseph Smith, the Nauvoo Masonic Lodge, and steamboat Maid of Iowa, among several other positions. Bullock also worked closely with Brigham Young. He followed the church from Nauvoo to Winter Quarters and into the Great Salt Lake Valley and was pivotal in the beginnings of Deseret News.
