Abstract
As another election year approaches, the issue of prayer in school is revisited in many political debates. The conservatives often demand their right to pray in school should be protected by the Constitution, whereas, on the other end of the spectrum citizens argue for a stronger, higher wall separating church and state. In this report I will first discuss the Engel v. Vitale case, as argued before the Supreme Court, which deemed illegal prayer-in-school. I will then highlight some commentaries given regarding this case. Lastly, I will offer my own resolution to the many debates surrounding the prayer in school issue.
